Western District of Oklahoma Historical Society
The Historical Society of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma is a nonprofit organization incorporated in 2011. The Society, which has no legal connection with the Court, works to discover and preserve the Court’s rich history. The Society offers educational programming and interactive exhibits at the Federal Judicial Learning Center and Museum, which opened in November 2015 on the first floor of the historic U.S. Post Office and Courthouse, the first federal building constructed in Oklahoma. The Society is dedicated to preserving the Court’s heritage through the collection of portraits, photographs, oral histories, documents, news articles, books, artifacts, and personal memorabilia. Members of the Board of Directors include judges, attorneys, professors, and community leaders, who endeavor to educate the public about the rule of law and its importance in resolving conflicts and protecting rights in our society.
